Candy Sales
Thespian Fundraiser
Thespians undertake two candy sales to raise money to pay for activities throughout the school year. Students mostly sell candy bars to other students during the school day for two weeks at a time. One candy sale is held during the fall semester and the other during the spring semester. Any student may participate in the Thespian Candy Sale. Half of the proceeds are deposited into a student account that the participant can use to pay Thespian dues, conference registration fees, and many other Thespian-related activities. The other half is used by the Thespian Troupe for activities that benefit the entire troupe. This year’s sale features delicious Malley’s Chocolates.
You will have a hard time beating the quality of our Malley’s Chocolate bars. For just $1.00 you can taste the best chocolate around.
Spaghetti Dinner
Stage Parent Fundraiser
Thespians plan car washes each summer to raise money to pay for activities throughout the school year. The wash is free but donations are kindly accepted. Each car wash is held at the Lube Stop at the corner of West Market Street and Pershing Avenue in Akron from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on a Saturday morning. This is a Thespian activity but any student is welcome to participate. Half of the proceeds are deposited into a student account that the participant can use to pay Thespian dues, conference registration or other Thespian-related expenses.
Stage Parent Fundraiser
Patron Campaign
Stage Parents supplement this income with a patron campaign for the musical program each year. Every member of the cast, pit and crew is expected to secure three patronages in support of the arts at Firestone High School. The money raised through the Patron Campaign is used to offset the expense of the musical in an effort to keep our ticket prices low and affordable to the widest range of patrons as possible. These funds help to pay for guest artists who work with and mentor our student artists. This money is also used to replace old and worn out tools and equipment to help keep our students safe. The patron campaign also includes display ads that are included in our printed program for the entire year. The entire schedule of each theatre advertiser is included in our on-line performance calendar.
Ticket sales pay about 60 percent of the expenses of any theatre organization. Become a patron and help keep our ticket prices more affordable for everyone.
Stage Parents host a spaghetti dinner for up to 200 people between the Saturday matinee and evening performances of the annual musical. This dinner is offered at a low cost with special prices for singles, doubles, and a family of four. The dinner is served from 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and includes spaghetti with a choice of red and white sauce along with mixed greens, a three-bean salad, and an assortment of bread. Pie is also available at small additional cost. The meal is lovingly prepared by our parent volunteers and served with charm by our students. The spaghetti dinner is a fantastic way to complete your trip to the theatre as an after-show or before-the-show treat for the whole family. Reservations are highly encouraged.
Stage Parents sell a variety of fall-planting bulbs each year. These perennial bulbs will grow into beautiful flowers for many springs to come and are guaranteed to bloom to your satisfaction. The selection includes a variety of tulips as well as crocuses, daffodils, and lilies as well as a wide variety of other early bloomers. Our product is from Dutch Mill Bulbs and is delivered in plenty of time to put in the ground before winter.
Help us stay green with this renewable fund-raiser.
All packages cost $6.00, contain multiple bulbs
and are guaranteed to bloom.
The entire family can enjoy a delicious and affordable dinner either before or after the show on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
Our Thespians take washing your car seriously. If you appreciate their work, feel free to leave a donation.
