Seven Firestone Theatre productions have been selected by the Ohio Educational Theatre Association since 1997 as featured, full-length productions at the State Thespian Conference. Those plays include Macbeth (2008), for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf (2006), The Servant of Two Masters (2004), Dear Gabby: the Confessions of an Over-Achiever (2011 and 2000), The Seagull (1999), and Much Ado About Nothing (1997).

Our Thespian Troupe strives to help our neighbors in need. Thespians raise funds in support of the Food Distribution Program at the nearby First Baptist Church of Akron. Our generous patrons pull change from their pockets in support of this outstanding community effort that feeds nearly 500 needy neighbors each month. Our Thespians typically raise over $2000.00 for this project every year. Our thanks to the many generous people who have supported this effort and to the many Thespians who have made it happen with such grace.

Thespians undertake fund-raiser to offset personal costs of conferences and other expenses.
Our Thespians undertake a series of simple fund-raisers to help pay for expenses associated with conference registration, field trips, and production expenses such as personal make-up kits. Fund-raisers have included car washes and candy sales, among other events.
Thespians meet as a group at least five times each school year and plan plenty of other social activities for its members. Plans include seeing local theatre including shows at nearby high schools as well as movie nights, a bowling event, and game nights. Our officers are open to suggestions regarding fun activities for our members.
Students earn eligibility in our Thespian Troupe by undertaking theatre experiences in our school and at other theatres. Each student must earn a total of 10 points of which five must be earned at their home school to be eligible for induction. Points are tallied by the theatre director at least twice per year. Induction is held each May at the annual Awards and Recognition Dinner. All Thespians must pay a one-time due in an amount set by the International Thespian Society.
